Originally from Asgard, Valkyrie fled when the rest of the valkyries were slaughtered in battle and she was left as the only survivor. She didn’t return to Asgard, instead working as a bounty hunter; at least until discovering that Thanos was heading to Earth (Midgard) in search of the infinity stones. In an attempt to warn the Midgardians of what was coming, Valkyrie took her ship to Earth…and crash-landed there; fortunately outside the Avengers’ compound.

Natasha was the first Midgardian Valkyrie met and, much like Lincoln, Natasha felt an immediate draw to the former Asgardian. Just like her son, Valkyrie was alone. She didn’t have any friends or family. And it was easy for Natasha to choose to take her into her family as well.

Valkyrie hasn’t been a part of the family for too long yet, but she has been able to celebrate Christmas with them. Along with the giving of gifts, she’s also learning about other Midgardian traditions, such as singing carols. And decorating a Christmas tree. Oh; and the entirely new tradition of playing cards every single Christmas.

Valkyrie might have no memory of her past before the valkyries, but with the help of her new family, she can make new memories for the future.
