Despite being an incredibly responsible individual as an adult, Pepper wasn’t quite as responsible as a teenager. This is seen in the story she shares while they’re on the island, but also in the second deaging incident, where she sneaked out with several of the other family members and got drunk. Her biological parents are still alive, but they are quite elderly and not as mobile as they once were.

For quite a long time, Pepper did feel more like an outsider to the rest of the family, even though no one else thought of her that way. This did in fact lead to her acting like her husband, taking risks to push and see what would happen. And what happened was Steve stepped in and made it clear he saw her as his daughter as well.

Pepper is more than just Tony’s wife (was fiance). She’s a very competent CEO and businesswoman, who is mostly responsible for keeping all of Tony’s businesses afloat. Tony is very clear on the fact that Pepper is instrumental in his work. It does mean she has to travel a lot, though, and attend a lot of meetings. Sometimes, that’s helpful, considering that she ended up bringing Hank Pym back with her right when Tony needed him the most. But when she’s away, her family misses her a lot.

Pepper’s relationship with both of her sons is very close and loving. While it was difficult to adopt Werner at first, due to the deaging, that didn’t mean she wanted him any less; and the only thing she and Tony were waiting for was for her to return to her normal age.
